Lake District walks - Watendlath valley

Two views down the Watendlath valley. You can also use the tarmac road off to the right, but the path, on the left, is more interesting.

The beck in early spring

Further down the valley, on a winter's afternoon after some rain.

Here is the bridge, which you cross to reach Ashness, cutting up over a stile through the woods. Alternatively, you can branch left at the bridge and down to the Lodore Falls, a spectacular sight especially after rain. This is quite a steep descent, where you do need proper footwear.
