Lake District walks - Stonycroft Gill valley

This is Stonycroft Gill valley, looking north-east back towards Barrow Door in the V between Barrow, left centre, and Stile End on the far left. You can see Derwentwater in the distance. Taken in the autumn, hence the colours.

Another view, in mid-summer, from slightly higher up the path.

Stonycroft Gill from the flank of Outerside. Rowling End is on the right.

From the path down from Barrow Door to the Gill. In the distance you can see the Helvellyn ridge, behind the Newlands Valley and Catbells. In the foreground, incidentally, is a part of Barrow which is still suffering from the fire some 17 months previously - the heather has not re-generated, and bracken is trying to take over.
