Here is an unusual view of Whiteside and the magnificent ridge stretching to Hopegill Head on the left

The Whiteside ridge from Lorton Vale

This is down in the Vale, looking due south to Mellbreak on the other side of Crummock Water. The Lorton Vale ridge is on the right.

This shows the Vale ridge. Not at all high, but a pleasant walk - and you can see the sea, since this is the first high ground between the sea and the Lakes.
