Autumn colours around the lake. The first two pictures are at Calf Close Bay, which is the dogs' favourite - lots of wood to gnaw and swim after, and the water is shallow.

Here are some pictures, taken at the northern end of the lake just after the first snow of the winter.

Just so that you remember that you do encounter people sometimes around the lake - especially at the Keswick landing stages for the launch. Plans have just been announced to "develop" this area: primarily, it is understood, to eliminate vehicles. Watch this space...

You can also meet some unusual animals. I can't say I would be too impressed if I were a sheep, but they and the llamas seem to be getting along together OK...
