Keskadale! Actually, it's mostly Newlands valley, with Keskadale carrying on round up to the left.
The knob is Causey Pike.
This is Keskadale...
At the further end is Newlands Hause, where the road from Braithwaite drops sharply down to Buttermere. From the Hause you can come back along the ridge in the right middle of the picture, from Knott Rigg to Ard Crags, an excellent walk especially when cloud obscures the higher fells.
The fell in the far distance is Red Pike, on the other side of Buttermere.
Here is almost the same view, taken in early summer when all is green. The rounded fell is Robinson, and the hamlet is Little Town.
and lastly, in winter
The first two pictures above were taken from lower down on the flank of Catbells; this one is from the top, and shows Causey Pike and Ard Crags on two different winter afternoons.
In late and early summer, respectively.
