Highbridge Cottage, available to let as self-catering accommodation, has a 4-star English Tourism Council rating, which in the council's words signifies: 

  • an excellent overall level of quality

  • very good care and attention to detail

  • ample space and good quality furniture. 

It is gas centrally heated, and also has an open fire, just right for those looking for a relaxing evening after a walk in the fells. It sleeps 4 people, or 5 with use of the Z-bed, and has: 

  • a living room with an open fire, colour TV, video recorder, and CD player/radio

  • a large dining room/kitchen with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing/drying machine, dishwasher and coffee maker

  • one double bedroom with king size bed and additional Z-bed

  • one twin bedroom with two beds

  • a bathroom with shower over bath, handbasin, W.C. and a drying cupboard.

A cot and high chair are available.

Outside the cottage is a small grassed area overlooking the stream, where you can sit enjoying a drink in the evening sun. On the southern side of the cottage, where you can also sit out, is a yard which is secure for dogs. There is parking space for one car at the side of the building, with plenty more off-road parking available within 100 yards.

Braithwaite is a "dog-friendly" village - as long as you clean up after you! Pets are most welcome at the cottage, and they usually have a marvellous time, both in the village and on the surrounding fells.

The cottage is a no-smoking area.
