High Bridge has been available to let as self-catering accommodation since 2004, and was soon awarded an English Tourism Council 4-star rating. In the words of the ETC, this signifies:

  • an excellent overall level of quality

  • very good care and attention to detail

  • ample space and good quality furniture..

The self-catering holiday cottage has gas central heating, and also has marvellous views of the northern fells across the village roof-tops.

The cottage sleeps 6 people, and has:

  • a large living room with colour TV, video recorder, CD player/radio - and great views

  • a dining room with mahogany dining table and french window access to the yard at the side of the building, which is secure for dogs

  • a kitchen with electric oven and hob, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, coffee maker and a clothes washing machine

  • one double bedroom with king sized Sealy bed

  • two twin bedrooms, one with large bunk beds

  • a large bathroom with bath, separate shower, handbasin, and W.C.

  • a separate shower room, with power shower and wash basin

  • a separate W.C. with handbasin

  • a large walk-in drying cupboard with powerful electric radiator.

A cot and high chair are available.

To the side of the cottage is a yard facing east and south, with chairs and a garden table; the whole yard area is secure for dogs. There is off-road parking space for one car at the side of the building, with plenty more available within 100 yards.

Braithwaite is a "dog-friendly" village - as long as you clean up after you! Dogs are most welcome at the cottage, and they usually have a marvellous time, both in the village and on the surrounding fells.

The cottage is a no-smoking area.
