This is one occasion when it is worth looking back! The Buttermere ridge is on the left and Fleetwith Pike on the right, with Haystacks just out of sight on the left. You are walking across to the right towards the tramway.
Here is the tramway, down which the miners took their slate to the Hause, just visible in the centre of the picture. In the distance is a snow-capped Helvellyn, on the left is Dale Head.
