Lake District walks - Brandreth

This is looking straight down Ennerdale, between the Buttermere ridge on the right and Pillar on the left. Gable is 90 degrees to our left

Green Gable in the foreground, Great Gable towering behind.

Kirk Fell on the right, Great Gable climbing up on the left. You can see Moses Trod, the path over the col between Wasdale and Honister taken initially by the renowned smuggler Moses Rigg.

The northern face of Gable. The path from Green Gable is seen on the left. Moses Trod is just out of sight on the right.

This is the view from Windy Gap, between Green Gable and Great Gable. The path - which is steep and stony - is called Aaron Slack. Beyond Styhead Tarn is the path up to Esk Hause to the left of Great End. You can just see Sprinkling Tarn on the left of the path some way up.
